Refund policy

Last updated: 8 August 2026

We want customers to be confident when purchasing from JC Autoworx. This policy explains when products can be returned and when a refund may be available.

Standard, non-personalised products

If you purchase a standard product online and change your mind, you may notify us that you wish to cancel the purchase within 14 days of receiving the product.

Once you have notified us, you normally have a further 14 days to return the product.

Please contact us before sending a return so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.

Condition of returned items

Customers are entitled to inspect products in a similar way to how they could inspect them in a physical shop.

Where a product has been used, fitted, damaged or handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it, we may make a deduction from the refund to reflect any reduction in value where permitted by law.

Where possible, products should be returned with their original packaging, accessories and components.

Personalised and custom-made products

Products that have been personalised or custom-made for the customer are generally excluded from the standard online change-of-mind cancellation right.

For JC Autoworx, this includes products such as:

TPMS sensors that have been programmed specifically to a customer's vehicle registration, VIN or supplied vehicle information.

Once a sensor has been programmed specifically for your vehicle, it cannot normally be returned simply because you have changed your mind or no longer require it.

This does not affect your rights if the item is faulty, incorrectly supplied or not as described.

Used or fitted parts

We do not normally accept change-of-mind returns for products that have been:

  • fitted to a vehicle;
  • installed;
  • electrically connected and used;
  • altered or modified;
  • damaged during installation;
  • contaminated with oil, fuel, coolant or other substances;
  • otherwise used beyond what would reasonably be necessary to inspect them.

However, these restrictions do not remove your statutory rights in relation to faulty or misdescribed goods.

Faulty products

If a product is faulty, not as described or does not meet the legal standards required of goods sold to consumers, please contact us as soon as possible.

UK consumer law provides statutory remedies for faulty goods, and these rights cannot be removed by our returns policy.

Depending on the circumstances and how long you have owned the product, the appropriate remedy may include a refund, repair or replacement.

Incorrect products

If we have supplied an incorrect product, please contact us before fitting or using it.

Where the error is ours, we will arrange an appropriate remedy.

Incorrect vehicle registration or vehicle information

Please carefully check the vehicle registration, VIN and any other vehicle details supplied when ordering personalised products.

If an item has been correctly programmed or prepared using incorrect information supplied by the customer, it will not normally be eligible for a change-of-mind return.

Return postage

For change-of-mind returns where the product is not faulty, the customer may be responsible for the cost of returning the product where this has been clearly communicated before purchase.

Where a product is confirmed to be faulty or we supplied the wrong product, we will deal with reasonable return costs in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Refunds

Once an eligible returned item has been received, we will inspect it and process the refund within the time required by law.

For eligible online cancellations, refunds must normally be issued within 14 days of receiving the goods back. Standard outbound delivery charges must also normally be refunded, although any extra amount paid for an upgraded delivery service does not have to be refunded beyond the cost of standard delivery.

Refunds will normally be made to the original payment method.
