This Legal Notice applies to products, information and services provided by JC Autoworx through this website.

Vehicle Diagnosis

Automotive fault codes, warning lights and symptoms can have more than one possible cause.

The sale of a component, repair kit, sensor or other product by JC Autoworx does not constitute confirmation that the product will rectify a particular vehicle fault.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that appropriate diagnosis has been carried out before ordering or fitting parts.

Where necessary, diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably competent automotive technician using appropriate diagnostic equipment and manufacturer information.

Product Compatibility

We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate compatibility and application information.

However, customers are responsible for checking that a product is suitable for their particular vehicle before installation.

Where JC Autoworx requests information including a vehicle registration number, VIN, make, model, engine type or year, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the information supplied is complete and accurate.

JC Autoworx cannot accept responsibility for incompatibility, additional costs or vehicle damage resulting from incorrect or incomplete vehicle information supplied by the customer.

Installation and Fitment

Automotive components should be installed by a suitably competent person.

Customers and installers are responsible for:

• confirming that the supplied component is correct before installation;
• following vehicle manufacturer repair procedures;
• using appropriate tools and equipment;
• observing relevant torque specifications;
• carrying out any required coding, calibration, adaptation or relearn procedures; and
• checking that the vehicle operates correctly and safely following installation.

Vehicle Damage

JC Autoworx will not be responsible for vehicle damage, component failure, consequential repair costs or other losses caused by matters for which JC Autoworx is not at fault, including:

• incorrect diagnosis of the original vehicle fault;
• incorrect installation or removal of a component;
• failure to follow manufacturer repair procedures;
• incorrect torque settings;
• use of unsuitable tools or equipment;
• modification or alteration of supplied products;
• incorrect coding, programming, adaptation or relearn procedures;
• continued operation of a vehicle where a fault or warning remains present;
• installation of a product on an incompatible vehicle;
• incorrect vehicle information supplied by the customer;
• damage caused by another defective vehicle component; or
• misuse, neglect, accident or improper handling.

Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability where JC Autoworx is legally responsible for the loss or damage.

TPMS Sensors

TPMS sensors supplied as pre-programmed products are programmed using the vehicle information supplied by the customer.

Pre-programming does not necessarily mean that the vehicle will recognise the sensor immediately after installation.

Depending on the vehicle, additional procedures may be required, including:

• automatic driving relearn;
• manual TPMS relearn mode;
• diagnostic-tool registration;
• coding or adaptation; or
• activation using specialist TPMS equipment.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the vehicle's TPMS system has been properly diagnosed before replacing sensors.

JC Autoworx is not responsible for unsuccessful repairs where the original fault is caused by another part of the TPMS system or where an appropriate relearn, coding or diagnostic procedure has not been completed.

Repair Kits and Diagnostic Products

Some JC Autoworx products are marketed as repair kits for faults commonly associated with particular fault codes or symptoms.

References to a fault code or common failure should not be interpreted as a guarantee that replacing the supplied component will repair every vehicle displaying that code.

The vehicle must be independently diagnosed before parts are fitted.

Used, Installed or Modified Products

Once an automotive component has been installed, electrically connected, programmed, modified or otherwise used, its condition and operating environment may be affected by the vehicle.

This may be relevant when assessing a return or alleged product fault.

This does not affect a customer's statutory rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet the legal requirements applicable to consumer goods.

Professional Advice

Information provided on the JC Autoworx website, product listings, fitting notes or customer communications is intended to assist customers with product selection and general technical information.

Unless specifically agreed otherwise, it should not be regarded as a substitute for physical diagnosis or inspection of the vehicle by a suitably qualified technician.

Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

In particular, nothing in this notice affects a consumer's statutory rights in respect of goods that are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.

UK consumer law requires goods to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose where applicable and as described. Contract terms cannot remove those rights.
